Fall Photo Tour in the Blue Ridge Mountains

North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains are a beautiful place filled with quaint mountain towns, national forest, bustling cities, raging rivers and some of the world’s most creative artist and crafters. The Blue Ridge is known for its deep green forest and remote mountain pinnacles. In Madison County is the French Broad River, once known as the Buncombe Turnpike, on which livestock were taken to market is now home to white water rafting and small quaint towns. 
 
Yancy County is the highest county in North Carolina and has stunning views from Mt Mitchell. This might be why it has more artisans per capita than any other county in the US. Roan Mountain in Mitchell County has a trail that is a very easy stroll and leads to a wooden overlook with excellent views of Bald Mountain, Unaka Mountain and the valley of Buladean. Marion, Pleasant Gardens, Little Switzerland and Old Fort are towns in McDowell County known for there picturesque quality as the “Gateway to the Mountains”. McDowell County is also home to the Catawba Falls, Andrews Geyser and Linville Falls.
 
Along the southern edge of the state are the Blue Ridge foothills, this is home to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure. Chimney Rock is the newest of North Carolina’s state parks and is where you will find the 404 foot Hickory Nut Waterfall and a 26 story elevator inside a mountain that will take you to the top of Chimney Rock for a spectacular view of Hickory Nut Gorge.   The town of Lake Lure boast boat cruses and beaches right at the edge of town.
 
 The fee for the trip is $499.00 and includes round trip transportation in a deluxe motor home to Black Mountain, NC, hotel lodging (double occupancy), breakfast, a picnic lunch and all entrance fees to the parks and recreation areas.
